Studio Visits

It seems to be a busy time for visitors to the studio at the moment. Last week Joseph Millson was here to talk to an actors' masterclass, and a few days before that Rolf Saxon was reading for a character part in an upcoming production.
Over the next few days we are expecting the author of a well-known consipiracy adventure novel, and fashion photographer 'Shaz'.

Nicholas Owen

Fusion Broadcasting TV came back to CWF Studio with Nicholas Owen for some more documentary filming this week. The green screen is ideal for putting their own choice of backgrounds behind the presenter, allowing them to make programs at a much more reasonable budget than if they had to film on location.

Film Acting Masterclass 21st Feb

The studio's latest one-day film-acting masterclass is to be held here tomorrow. It runs from 11am to 5pm with breaks for refreshments, and costs £57.50 for the day.

These master classes are designed to be the best introduction to film acting, whether the attendees have any experience of acting or not. The students will get to see the kind of work that goes on in a real, operational film studio. They will see how special effects are done by our own in-house CGI expert, Ilyas Kaduji, who has worked on numerous major productions such as Sweeney Todd, Harry Potter and Narnia. They will also be filmed themselves and then see what they look like projected onto our own big screen. They will also be introduced to film sound and the importance of being quiet on set.

On top of that, students are shown what a director looks for in an actor's CV - and it will be a film director that shows them this, so there is nothing second-hand about what they will learn.

A two-day masterclass is planned for the weekend of 21st-22nd March at £125 for the two days, and a further one-day masterclass on Saturday 28th March. See www.actingcourses.net for details.

Acting Classes

CWF Studio's regular acting course will be running this evening. There will also be a film acting masterclass this Saturday.

These courses, taught by industry professionals rather than teachers, are very well attended and provide students with an insider's view of how the film industry works and how to create a good impression when seeking film acting work.

Business Meeting

It was meeting day at the studio today. After watching a trailer of a major blockbuster currently being produced at CWF, they got down to business (coffee and biscuits, I think).

Welcome to our Blog

Fusion Broadcasting TV are here today with Gail Porter filming "Careers TV" for the Information TV channel down on the main stage.

Gail kindly gave us a video testimonial, which we hope to put up on the site in due course.

Earlier in the week, auditions were being held for web actors. The idea is that they will be chosen to represent various corporate customers. It's all very hush-hush at the moment but we'll link to them shortly.
